Followup on my previous post, need some proper thoughts on how to reorganise to have separate places for B, C and D.
The major question is whether to keep a Help Zone type forum or whether HZ and GC for each car become effectively the same place. This would make HZ topics more visible and remove the temptation to post in GC to get help about your own car.
Also will probably syndicate it the same as Classifieds is done currently.
So the headings basically become -
Trade at the top?
- Classifieds
Car Chat
- Corsa
- Non Corsa (renames current GC)
- T&FAQ
Social
- Prem
- RGE
- Off Day
I'll modify the thread pages so its easy to move stuff and may even open it up to anyone so if you see a thread that needs moving to the B/C/D bits you can do. Obviously we may regulate that.
T&FAQ will stay in there somewhere but eventually content from that will be migrated out to a Wiki.
Thoughts please.

- corsa c
- corsa d
Is that what you're thinking?

General chat is for motor related talk isnt it? Not specific corsa?
Helpzones on the other hand will be better for seperate models due to them be induvidual.

But the majority of threads in gc aren't corsa related are they? This way, there will a place just corsa specific

The main aim is to have a very clear place to talk about Corsas.
Everything else is contributory to that and up for debate.
But I want it busy, ie. not too spread out, and about Corsas.
I also want to accommodate non-Corsa, which is as I see it the current GC.

You need GC but not invdivdual B C D otherwise it becomes quiet. Just label the forum correctly

Trouble is, if u have a corsa specific place, you'll still get people posting in 'general chat' about corsas. Exactly like people post in gc when it should be hz

It'll probably be called non-Corsa or something like that so it should be obvious where the stuff goes.
That is a bit of a side effect because people like posting in busy forums but that's like saying we shouldn't have Cars Offered because Off Day is busier. They're split up for a reason.

i honestly cant see some things working for example.... how "much is it worth" threads are just another way of advertising but not posting the the forsale section OR any meets going on in the "xyxyx" area when its not posted in the "xyxyx" because its too quiet in there
end of the day you cant please everyone ian
good luck

Why not just add non Corsa car chat below P&B and leave GC.

I like how that looks, merging HZ into the Car chat, makes it clear where to post purely by what car they want to discuss. In that case though, I think P&B would either need to be top level so:
Car Chat
-Corsa
-Non-Corsa
-P&B
-T&FAQ
or a Corsa P&B within Corsa chat and a Non-Corsa P&B in Non-Corsa
First option is tidier but the second option may be more what people would expect when GC is split between Corsa and Non-Corsa

We have one big HZ atm, most people try and get away with posting in GC because HZ doesn't have the same traffic. If it was merged, you have the traffic plus help threads are no longer in the 'wrong' section so should get dealt with rather than having people telling them to post in HZ
