Just curious as to if any C20LET owners run them right through winter months?
Bought one so I could take my Astra Gsi Turbo off the road over winter to garrett

Should be ok unless it snows 200bhp+ in the snow is useless

Just like anything else really. You should know if you have the ability/will power not to use your right foot too much. I for one, don't. So I'll be popping, banging and flaming down most roads

Drove mine around for years in all weather. It's never a problem unless you don't drive to the conditions, which you would fail at in any car really. Always wondered if the LSD helPs much in snow etc?

Na, i was gonna get a 106 gti but this worked out cheaper and recon could be turned into a track car after winter. Anyone used snow tyres in passed and any recommended brands?
Nic I've also wondered about an LSD been any better in snow but found my Astra just spins up with the LSD

Last winter my xe used to spin up slip roads in 4th and try to pull me into lamp posts in the snow but my 12v is much easier to drive due to its lack of power although I have a heavy right foot

What a load of bull. Can't see what the big deal is? You would struggle more with a BMW 328i in the snow than a Corsa Turbo. Just keep the thing off boost. They're shit for traction any season.

Never understand these threads? Its a car, has wheels like any other car, get in it and drive it to suit the weather around you

Pretty sure a C20LET will run fine over the winter months - it can handle the colder weather just fine.
..Mine did anyway.

Exactly.
Its a production engine from a mass produced car that was designed to operate globally in all temperatures.
It's not a pissing F1 V10 or something

Bugs me, also annoys me when people change their wheels (not just tyres) in places like England, f'kin ridiculous all this "winter prep" as well

TBH, some places need it. I can't get up my hill with my normal tyres on as there summer tyres. Give it some normal tyres with a better pattern for snow and I can. So it's not ridiculous as you put it.

I can understand changing wheels. Nobody wants a set of mint alloys getting smacked up by road salt, snow shite and excess grubby water. And as for tyres my Potenza's are awful in damp conditions let alone ice and snow!

I wouldn't, Cavalier and Calibra Turbo's were not designed to run in winter
