I think it will be more like a movie set in the same universe / story line an less like an actual prequel.

"Fans will notice some things" does not sound like it will revolve around the actual Alien mythology.

one of the lads competing in the time attack actually filmed prometheus, he told me that it was a prequal and explained the big guy in the chair from the first etc.

the studio was ticketyboo films i think

All Alien films are shockingly shit. Never mind the two first are considered some of the best sci-fi movies ever made.

Seeing as Ridley Scott has a fairly good record with just a few misses, it's very pessimistic to expect the movie to fail.

It does indeed... It also looks to feature Tom Hardy, who is not in the movie, while the caption reads "Logan Marshall-Green".

Screenshot still looks photoshopped, but at least it's the right actor.

I'm excited. Alien and Gladiator are in my top films, so Ridley deserves praise.

But he also made the second worst film I've ever seen and deserves a slap the ginger cigar smoking cretin.

P.s pessimistic or not it will be shit.

It won't be shit.

It's based in the same universe as Alien trilogy and Ridley has said that the last 8 minutes ties Prometheus into Alien.

Just saw the original this Friday!

The Blu Ray transfer is truly phenomenal. Only a few moments reveal how old the film actually is.
No upscaling, everything was transferred from the original film stock.

My theory is we work with the space jockeys who are giant biomechanical aliens and then steal their technology to create what we class as the "alien" we all know, the space jockeys get angry (like the god Prometheus) and come after us and that's when the derelict gets shot down or blow up from within and a chestburster placed inside the SJ that's sat in the chair from Alien

I think you are buying into that bollocks a bit too much mate, they are trying to bring in new fans to the franchise, if you say "alien film" its going to put some people off straight away.

If you watch the trailer its quite obvious Fox & Ridley are doing the old red herring aproach and its quite clearly an alien prequel.

The other day an old news story on AlienPrequelNews was topped as at the time a bit of info that was leaked from the set at Pinewood Studio because at the time it seemed a bit far fetched but spotted on set were proper Giger esq Aliens the same type that were found in 'Alien'
