How much roughly dose it cost to have these done on a x16xe

a bit,

head off, sump off, undo rods push pistons up,

new rings then reassemble

while your there you’d have new headgasket and id recommend new cambelt

Depends how worn the bores are.

Might need a rebore/oversized pistons.

Well my head gasket went had a full head rebuild new gaskets new cambelt kit all back together now to find that cylinder 4 plug is black and wet ther is a spark iv tried the leads there all ok my mate goin to do a compresion test tonight just to make sure and also it runs splutery and smoke from exhaust

May aswel do proper job, main + big end bearings, rings, sumpset + headset, headbolt,

this!

shouldnt really cost you much more is labour either as the main bearings are exposed while doing rings and the other parts sumpset + headset and headbolts are all things that will be getting put back together anyway. just a case of using new parts instead of the old ones.

pikey method taking rods and pistons out and honing bores whilst cranks still in place.

be cheaper to take engine out yourself and strip it to a long motor...(sump to rocker) and then get it rebuilt and fit it yourself.

isnt many garages these days that like doing engine rebuilds as people dont wana pay and tbh if they charge less than £600-700 then its too cheap, parts alone would be £350-400 +labour, machining etc

Its had new head bolts the car aint done a mile so id think they would be ok im lookin at selling the car as it is owes me a lot of money at the mo only just had head done with gaskits and all that £280 and all the other upgrades iv done to it think its time for it to go tbh

For the cost you should use new headbolts everytime you refit the head.

isnt it just an x16xe? cheaper to buy another motor or xe it than spend 600 700 quid on it
