I'm fairly sure under section 24 of PACE the police officer could have arrested him under the grounds of believing the man has committed an offense and doubts the identity of the offender / can't ascertain who the offender is at the point of the offence.

I'm sure he could, but the point is, the officer didn't really know what he was talking about and it would appear that he was bamboozled by the cyclist.

even if he could the officer still didnt know he could so clearly didnt know the law so why is he out enforcing it, to be honest, i dislike police and i dislike cyclists so they are both cunts.

Nope, I'm siding with the cyclist! Although he gave him too much shit he was within his rights to do so, plus the jobs worth didn't have a clue what he was trying to enforce!

Jobs worth? The cyclist went through a red light. Can anyone doubting the officer quote all their company procedures word for word? No you can't. Guy was just out to be a prick. I can understand people feeling hard done to who've had harsh encounters with the police before, but those guys are there to do a job and would undoubtedly be the first people you'd call if you were in trouble. Saying "I hate the police" is on the same lines as racism or any other discrimination. They're not all bad.

Some police are spot on, and others are up their own arse!

I went to the police station to give evidence on a case, the police officer arrested me at the door before the interview, to which I told him he couldn't as I'd voluntary come of my own accord, to which his sergeant backed me up!

Know what you can and can't do goes a long way, after that he was a total twat and tried to trick and twist my words to accuse an innocent party.

Even though I knew where my Moto X bike was when it got pinched from my garage they wouldnt go and look.

I try to have as little dealing with them as possible but some think they are better than anyone else.

What's the latest campaign... "give respect, get respect"

Spot on. Trust me, its impossible to know every law/regulation etc as a Police Officer. Anyone who's seen PACE books will realise this.

Although the copper could have handled it better, the cyclist and the cameraman are just looking to cause trouble. Dickheads. Cyclists have no right to go through a red light. And i'm a cyclist.

no i would, to get a crime reference number and inform my tracker company, wouldnt expect them to get it though, just like when i had previous stuff stolen.

they probably foudn the person who stole it but he filmed them and asked them questions so they let him go.
