Just got an email from Sky about there dedicated F1 Channel
quote:
In March 2012, we're launching Sky Sports F1™ to bring you all the action like never before. We will take you under the skin of the sport with a depth of coverage previously unseen. And best of all, as a Sky HD or Sky Sports 1&2 customer, you'll receive this new, dedicated channel for free. You'll be able to enjoy:
- All next season's races live, uninterrupted and available in HD
- Every practise session live
- Behind the scenes news and coverage
-Expert Formula 1™ presentation team led by Martin Brundle
Brundle to Sky, hmm interesting, might make it abit more watchable but that sucks for the BBC.
Jake and DC have signed up for next year, Eddie Jordan hasn't yet though.

Martin Brundle has joined the Sky Sports F1 HD for next season.
The renowned and respected commentator has revealed that the lure of covering every session live in 2012 was impossible to resist, with SKY broadcasting all 20 Grands Prix races, without interruption, from March onwards.
Brundle, who spent 13 seasons in F1 as a driver between 1984 and 1996, said: “I’m very much looking forward to joining Sky’s Formula 1 team.
“It was exciting to hear that they will have a dedicated channel for Formula 1 – with live races, in-depth features and key interviews.
“It’s very important for me to be covering every Formula 1 weekend with the intense energy of live television.
“There will be also be plenty of time and scope at Sky to create the features I really enjoy making which highlight the skills and fascinating technology of F1.
“It’s been a privilege working with BBC F1, and now I am very motivated with new opportunities at Sky Sports F1 HD.”

Very glad they won't be charging a seperate subscription for this. When I saw they'd done a new channel I was a bit worried!

John, I think you get it if you have the sports package. So if you have HD but not the sports package, you won't have it.
Thats how it reads to me.
I have the sports channel anyway, so I'm alright!

Sky HD or SKy Sports 1&2.
Having sports would make most sense though going by current Sky practices.

If you have Sky HD but not Sports, you will need to upgrade to the Sports package to get this channel, i think

Think you're wrong Walbinho
Just been looking on the sky website and it reads that if you have the HD pack or sky sports you will get the F1 channel
Like you though it makes no difference to me as I have both

Having just Sky HD is enough, you don't need sports.

It's included either with the Sky HD or Sky Sports packages.
No word on Virgin, although there are rumours that the SSF1 channel will be £10p/m on it's own but to be honest i can see it be exclusive to Sky meaning you'll need to fork out for the SS package.
Alternatively, point a dish at Astra 19.2E (RTL; German commentary) or one of the Arabsat's (One of the sports channels, English Commentary) for F-O-T-A F1 coverage.
Or stream it live from the numerous sports streaming sites.
Edit - Thread on Cableforums about SSF1 on VM - HERE

Searching my name on google brings up a link to me bitching about the ITV adverts ruining a race!
I'll be very surprised if they put adverts during, love or hate sky, theyre brilliant at presenting sport.
