being a small engine would be more appealing to young people. looks nice and cheap to run/ insure

Yeah but the 1.2 8v isn't that great on fuel, it's a bit of a dinosaur.

Ireland is expensive !

Would probably pay about £400-£500 for a 97 1.2 8v.

400/500 the wheels would fetch 300 with 4 good tyres refurbed

Then break it. Because it's only worth that sort of price. The 1.2 8v is one of the worst engines ever designed.

its worth what someone is going to pay for it, so put it up for 1000 and see what offers you get simple. if no intrest lower the price.

Why? They are one of the most reliable engines vauxhall have ever made imo, they take an awful amount of abuse and still go unlike 16v's

They are reliable, but that's it? There are other engines out there that are reliable, but aren't woefully underpowered and dreadful on fuel.

Well said darrell prefer the 8valves to the 16valves anyday hate the ecoshite engines
