I wouldnt have thought so!

Ebay or somewhere like vauxhall spares should give you a good price on one!

£500!? Sounds like you would be paying for christmas lunch and beers as well!

diesel pumps can be VERY expensive mate i work as a technician for a dealership and have seen a few go and glad it wasnt me paying out lol ive got a 1.7 CDTi corsa SRi and its like 500 quid for a non vauxhall pump for mine, BUT on the 1.7 Di and DTi mk4 astra vans which is a slightly older version of my engine (still izuzu) there VERY common for the EDU contoller dieing, electronic diesel control unit or something, its a small electric box sort of thing 4 bolts hold it on, inside the solder dries up and breaks the connection, simply take it off open it up and see if its that, on back of head near timing belt

May aswell got the astra fixed, a £350 transit is going to need as much welding soon as what a fuel pump would of cost

about 1100 from vaux. i had one go on me , i think i ended up getting one for about £600 . whether they have come down with age i dont know but i do know they are fairly common in going. youll be better buying an old car off ebay using the pump and breaking car to get your money back .

edit didnt read you sold it
