What's the difference between these 2 kits please? The model / part numbers seem to be slightly different.

Will be getting used on a K&N cone filter (part of the Dave F airbox for the Mini)

The only difference I can see is that the black bottled link doen't come with a service sticker.

From reading it, that's what I could see! And possibly no box which I'm not bothered about.

As long as the actual oil etc is still the same I'll get the black one

ones a spray oil the other a squeeze bottle.

one has 8oz of oil the other 6.5oz

Get the white kit with the areosol oil, it's so much easier to Use and apply.

just remember to go easy with the oil, add a bit, let it soak in before deciding if you need any more?

easy to over oil them, you only want a light coating

what filter do you have Nic, the exposed ones do get pretty manky, but the enclosed cones hardly get dirty

Yeah big green one. With having no arch liners up until recently it regularly got manky. Would still clean it every few months any way just in case.

I got told by a guy at Awesome GTI that K&N no longer supply the oil (with new filters) due to it knackering AFM's. Apparently they will filter just as good without the oil in there

you should never use the filter un-oiled apparently as the oil does stop the very small particles that would go through the filter without

10. Do K&N air filters come pre-oiled or must they be oiled before using?

Almost all K&N air filters come pre-oiled and ready to use. The filter oil we use is red. A new oiled filter will appear red-pink in color. Some crankcase vent air filters come unoiled, however, they come with a small packet of K&N filter oil so they can be oiled before use. There are also a limited number of filters with specialty uses which are not pre-oiled. These items will be clearly marked as unoiled. Using an unoiled K&N filter will greatly reduce the filter's efficiency and void our product warranty on filters that come pre-oiled from the factory. If you receive a filter that is packaged in its cellophane wrapper and is unoiled, contact K&N's Customer Support department at (800) 858-3333.

Can pick up big cans of motocross filter cleaner and oil for sod all. It's exactly the same stuff and what I use on my bikes and any filters.
