For those who are interested i took part in a charity boxing event on Saturday 17th December.
13 fights throughout the night consisting of 3x2mins round, professional setup with 3 in each corner, paramedics, qualified referee, etc. This was my first ever fight inside a ring and i was up against an experienced muai thai fighter. It was a close fight but i lost on points in the final round.

The video

Anyway just a few pictures. I'm in the black vest (and not the one in the first pic )

The 5th pic? Or the one when I'm sat in the corner?

The 5th pic I'd just caught him with a left hook and rocked him and I was a bit surprised with myself the pic in the corner is the face of concentration!

The headgear was so annoying! I asked not to wear it but because it was amateur boxing they said I had to for insurance purposes as soon as we started to sweat any contact with the headgear and it spun round.

its the easiest way to stop him planning his shots. After watching the video I've realised I'm not aggressive enough. I seem to wait for him to throw a punch and then I counter it whereas I should be trying more to get in there first some of the time.

First round you didn't do much wrong. Don't know how they scored the fight but I'd say you won that. As you said the rest of the fight you were a little too defensive. Also you seemed nervous in the last 2 which is strange, since it was your first fight youd think it would be the 1st that got your nerves going! You could deffo tell he had more ring experience than you albeit in a different sport. Not a bad performance at all though mate and fair play on having the balls to do it in the first place!

Cheers mate! I think what looked like nervousness was just me trying not to expend all my energy and to pick my shots wisely. I have to admit a couple of shots he landed I did feel, which made me more aware of my technique rather than just going all out at him which probably contributed to me being less aggressive.
His ring experience definitely showed in the end although I think I did a fairly good job of keeping him on the outside of the ring.
