We list both discs and drums for them at work, 98-05. Guess its just whatever got fitted at the factory?

As above, seems to be quite random as to whether or not they have discs.
Does it have ABS?

No idea, it's going through the salvage auction next week and I want the rear disc setup for my Puma.
I would guess it does as its a Ghia.

I've had 3 focuses with ABS, they have all had rear discs. Zetec, LX and Ghia spec.
The last 2 I've had are on drums and no ABS but it does seem to be random.

afaik its all down to optional extras at factory as my mates a focus nut and goes onabout how random it can be.
ian i think he still has a full rear disk setup for sale though.
what bits do you need exactly?

i don't think rear discs was an optional extra.
whenever they have a changeover at facelifts, some get the old stuff, some get new stuff, some get a mix of both even though they are the same year.
it's just whatever's in the parts bin at the time.
but rear discs should be on the ghia model as that was top spec back then.

rear discs were definately an optional extra. think all 2.0l focus's had them standard but anything else was added on when bought.

I'm hoping Ghia spec makes a difference.
TBH I've only gone to £125 on the whole car so I probably won't get it anyway, thought it was worth a punt while there was no other interest. Only needs a bonnet and windscreen and its back on the road if it doesn't have the bits I need.

Guy i used to work with had a normal 1.8 Zetec on a V plate and that had rear discs.
Theres also a X plate Focus Collection goes about this way, the nice blue colour with the nice bumpers etc, also a 1.8, but that has drums.

My Transit van does.
I wouldn't think it would, Ford are always a bit tight on brakes.
