Selling my astra gsi as I need something more economical/cheap to tax with 5 doors. Thinking either an A3 or 118/20...diesels, budget is around 7k.
Quite like the looks of the bmw but the back seats seem a bit of an afterthought.
Audi looks a bit plain and didn't find it too nice to drive. Also possibly cheaper on insurance than bmw just cos it's not a bmw.
Any input?
Seasons greetings to all

7k is quite a nice budget to find yourself a car bud, my best opinion would be go on auto trader and specify that you want 5 doors ect ect and see what comes up! its helped me loads over the past. good luck to finding a new motor mate

I do like the S-line but that's only on the 170hp ones isn't it?
Ideally looking for something that'll average over 50mpg.
Cheers for the input

best going for the 1.9 then the 170bhp will stuggle to see mid 40's tbh.

I've driven both.
1 series rear leg room is shit and if you are requiring the use of the rear seats I wouldn't bother unless the rear doors are required for baby seats then it might be ok.
As much as the A3 is boring bland and dull it would be the better of the two.

You can get the S-line on any engine iirc, it's only a trim level really. I know a lad with a 1.6 petrol S-line.

Also, look to get a facelift with the big single grill, looks better that the earlier ones, should be about 2005+.
