Had to nip into town after work to change the GF's uggs for the right colour.

Parked the car, half in a space (Due to some poor parking by other shoppers) Other half in a bus stop big enough for 2 buses, outside Unique in Ayr (Shop i was going to, For anyone that knows it)

Opened my door jumped out, bang.....

Passing bus near enough took my fucking door off, never even stopped. Cunt.

Went saw my old man after it, his mate is a manager at said bus company so he's going to going to get it sorted out for me, know a few folk who've been hit by buses about here and just been sent a company cheque no insurance.

Panel gaps are all okay, just the door itself.

Going to the VW bodyshop on Tuesday for an estimate, dearest place about, and the back arch is a bit rough on that side so ofcourse it'll need the full side sprayed.

Christ that's a close one if he hit the door with you standing just inside it. The cops would have a field day with him leaving the scene of an accident. Did you get the number plate???

Nah never got the plate or service number, was too surprised.

Got my receipt from the shop i was in to give a rough time, all the buses have to clock every stop to indicate if they are on time etc so should narrow it down if he stopped before or after the stop i was at.

thats the rule, they never do. and then when they do they try and get out of it. ive dealt with a few claims with bus companies when i used to work in insurance, one claim when i had cctv from the bus showing my client sat comepletely stationary and the bus driving into him. the bus company denied liability because the rear end of my clients car was half into a bus lane that he'd just crossed. in my experience bus companies are a nightmare and id never deal with them again given the choice

Usually They'll have an insurer who deal with the claim but pay themselves once they're told it's a their drivers fault because their excess will be around 250k.

was only a year or two ago and elderly lady was crossing the road next to Durham city centre bus station and the polish driver ran over her, claimed he didn't notice after he dragged the remains of her body (under the wheel arch) all the way upto Brandon. other drivers tooting and flashing and pedestrians throwing up

true story
