If you don't want to pay full price...

But in all seriousness, I have had emails from the usual - Amazon, HMV, Play and haven't seen anything that would make me get out the plastic.

Thats what I thought, it seems the whole phrase 'Boxing Day Sale' is an empty ploy to get people into the shops thinking they're getting a bargain where in fact the prices are the same as the weeks before yet they put a huge 50% OFF sign next to said item. Clever for the average numpty, transparent to anyone with a brain maybe.

John Lewis have a Sharp 32" for £99. No idea of the chances of you getting one but someone will bag a cheap tv.

Next sales tend to be ok as long as you are fine with punching middle aged women in the face to get in. Our local Next opened at 5am

Price consolidation, full RRP couple of weeks before Xmas then knock a small bit off and make look like a bargain to get you in the shops, when they are making a good profit

Granted some genuine deals to be had, mostly a ploy to get you in the shop, mainly the unwanted stock that's been on the shelf for donkies will be the cheapest but hardly the new stuff

That's why the Next ones are ok, tends to be genuine reductions but it's also why they are mental busy.

The best way to sale shop is ignore what price it was before. If you think the price it is now is fair that's all that matters.

Missus used to work at next and the sales were always chaos and people would be queueing outside hours before they opened. People would also walk in grab as much clothing as they could and then just chuck the clothes they didn't want.

With the variety of materials they use I like to try the tshirts on to see how they hang. Then there's no way I'd have the patience to try it on then go home and buy off eBay

Was in work boxing day morning and to see people outside next at 5am was tbh pathetic. I can't understand the motivation. Although one of the people there was my boss who had quite clearly been physically dragged there by his mrs.
