I've never fished bait bands before so i've ordered some today along with a few other bits and bobs.
Whats the best way to hook them? I've heard of hair rigging them but i've also heard the same amount of success can be had by simply hooking the bait band over the hook shank then onto the pellet, which sounds a hell of a lot easier to me and saves hair rigs too.
I also read this, which makes good reading if you want to Carp fish during the cold months, which I have a tendancy to:

You can put a rig ring onto the shank of the hook and put a rubber stopper either side. Just tie the bait band through the ring and you're sorted.

If you haven't already got it, download the carp rig guide from fox - http://www.foxint.com/prod_brochure.php second one down on that page.

any bait bands i have used for pellets etc i just literally hook the bait band? they normally have a little solid bit of plastic designed to do that.
dont really like using bait bands though, always find i dont hook into as many fish and a small hair rig can normally always be used anyway

Best way imo is to hair rig the bait band, then either band the bait or drill it, pull the band through and the rubber expanding inside the bait holds it on.

Yeah you get some bands with little rubber tags on them so you can hook the tag.
I'd recommend hairing them though.

Still not used the bands or pellets! Went fishing a week ago, caught loads of carp but all on Method with double hair-rigged sweetcorn.
I've just spooled up some braid so i'll go try that out next weekend.

Good to be catching well at this time of year
Been poking around for Pike myself... but nothing much showing up, slow winter for me.
