Apparently the more expensive ones aren't worth it. But then you bout a cheap one and it's falling apart.

I'd make my choice based on that tbh!

ya iv just had a look the cheaper ones seem to have the plastic ends surrounding the connector but the more premium ones (even £12) look like theyve got good build quality however it doesnt sound like they improve picture/sound as its all digital so not going to spend that much!

I spent around £10 on a 7.5metre one. The picture is decent and the connectors are actually quite good quality. You can get them for as little as 97p.

Yeah the way I see it is you're not going to get a better picture with more expensive cables however they might be made slightly better.

I have a 50 £ cable, that is coming apart at the plugs.

Price means nothing when it comes to HDMI cables.
Before you've used 10 x 1 £ cables the one 10 £ will probably be obsolete. It's not like you work through a cable a year.

Generally better build quality with the more expensive ones. I had a cheap one and it started showing up a bit fuzzy then the picture tinted green

Is there actually any hardware that supports this feature?

My PS3, TV, BluRay player and media center are all on WiFi. Seems ethernet via HDMI was outdated before it was released...

Cheaper ones are generaly no different but depends on the length. Up to about 10m you will see no difference between a £5 or £50 over this length the cheaper one will start to lose signal quality due poorer quality shielding but not really noticable. I have a £5 one and it has lasted a couple of years.
