To tell the story from the top. Years ago i March 2009 I bought a empty shell with an xe engine off a bloke on MIG. he had the shell from a salvage yard and with the shell having done 24k it was clean as a whistle and he bought it and stripped it out with the intention of putting the xe in and running a fuel cell etc. He changed his mind and for a tidy sum it all swapped hands

It arrived like this looking a bit of a mess and I found a place to have it stored

I promptly got to work stripping it down and removing everything i could and cleaning it up

i painted it a ridiculous silver colour which i kind of regret right now but anyway, bought loads of parts to rebuild it

then threw it all back together

all ready to find its new home

modified and painted the rear mount

painted and new hubs

and then in

removing all the old exhaust studs was a biiitch

fitting exhaust

all sitting in the right place

front brakes with Ferodo pads and 256mm stoppers

put some calibra leathers in it which were awful

but finished off the interior with stuff that i had

then i pretty much didnt touch it for about 6-8 months so it got a bit dirty

then it came the time to get it finished so it went off to lee mitchell to sort out the electrical gremlins, althernator was bust, crank sensor, loom was a mess and some other stuff which i cant remember now

then back it came about 2-3 weeks later and it was awesome

Got it all MOT'd which it went through first time. Then it later developed a nice oil leak from the oil pump, turned out the housing had cracked

which then got replaced by me on the drive

then it was running again for a short while before the clutch bolts came out of the flywheel, even though they were torqued up to required strength. made a right mess of the box and screwed the release bearing, took a lump out of the clutch as well.

that was the end of the trouble for now really, wrapped the manifold and got an ashley exhaust which frankly sounds awesome

last weekend it threw a throttle position sensor which i replaced and then it got post 97 bumpers

dash then got removed to fit epas

now its all pretty much back together, epas doesnt seem to be playing ball so need to get the multimeter out.

My point was I can't even see the engine bay, all we have there is a corsa that looks standard and somebody saying it has a 2.0... ok, next..

Need before pics, engine mods, details etc etc

If thats it "nearly there", you must not have had much of a goal for the car.

I hope its cost you pretty much nothing to get all the bits its needed.

I'd personally take the stickers off.

Otherwise if you are looking to suprise people I think you'll pull it off pretty well

Sort out that bonnet and get some new plastic arches, then take your birds hair dryer to the bumper plastics, would be delicious.

I'm glad you've fallen for it. Its far from standard, its everything put together which I've picked up over the years, black interior, sport seats, 15" steels powdercoated matt black. Whiteline rear arb. Sport wheel. 300lb gaz coilovers.
