i have recieved a TV Bracket like the below, im fitting to my external wall but the building is Steel frame so i have plasterboard then cavity then brickwork. so im purely relying on the plasterboard to hold up my 47" 20kg TV, i presume the only thing to do is to use Hollow Wall Anchors?

How deep is the cavity? I live in a new build and it's plasterboard, cavity then brickwork and we just used longer screws to secure properly into the brickwork.

Dont just use long screws

You need to pack out the cavity between the plasterboard and the brick or when you tighten the screws the plasterboard will bow/crack and weaken.

You either need to cut the plasterboard around the bracket then pack out the difference with wood or use spacers/washers behind the fixing points of the bracket.

our screws went through into our garage brick wall, but it did crack the plasterboard on the first try.

make sure you fix it to the studs or buy an led tv. my 42'' plasma is heavy enough as it is

What are the dot dabs fixed to? Surely there should be another skin of brick/block for there to be a cavity.

What he said. Couple of 3 x 4 studs in the cavity screwed to the blockwork, replace plasterboard over, screw through for TV.

There must be some sort of stud work be it steel or timber.

Poke a thin screw driver along the top edge of skirting (tight to skirting board) to find the uprights then run a bead of caulk along the top of the skirting to cover the holes.
