Trying to sell a cat C Puma for £500
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Cars-/9801/i.html?&_nkw=2000+puma+red&_catref=1
The others are all over three times the price, why pay that much for the same car?
There are people on PP paying loads of money, guy paid £1000 for a car then another £700 to do the cam belt and service it and he's happy, if that one of mine broke you could buy two more and still be up, and that's if he threw away the old ones, which would still be worth £200.
And everyone is like oooooooh cat C I'm not sure, it's a great car and very cheap, do these people not know maths.

instantly seen as dodgy imo. owned them in the past and it was a bastard to sell on. only time id own one now was if i was going to scrap when i was finished with it
maybe easier to sell if you had the vic , mot etc done ?

Yeah might put it through the tests so its ready to drive.
Would you not want to know its been smoked in? It's not terrible but you can tell when you first get in it.

Yes but for 500 quid I dont think it matters, sometimes you can be to honest, I reckon if it was drivable away it would be snapped up even if it was 100 more on the price

Could do but it's tidy, thought it made more sense to keep it on the road.

I'd struggle to make £500 breaking, I throw too much stuff away
Already done one and I've got another two on the go so I'm not short of bits either.
Got a mate with trader's, might get him to drive it to the VIC this week.

Got everything advertised on Puma People, the car advertised on Project Puma but they haven't approved the breaking thread yet.
Car is also on Ebay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280801974407
Got two offers, £400 which I told the guy to call me about in case he thinks he's driving it home and £100 which I made me spill my cornflakes just now.

Last engine I sold did 160 although that was without box/loom/ECU etc. would do it complete next time as they go for more.
Wheels went for 90
Cat I need to find a place locally to take them. That and batteries, got a few now.
Shell 100 yeah although I don't know what is happening with the prices, was half thinking about holding on to them until the prices go £150+pt again and do a load at once.

Insurance companys will write off anything now. Good man for not breaking it, hate seeing people destroy perfectly good cars.

Yeah I don't mind killing the bent ones but there's something very wrong for me to start with a car which works, just doesn't seem right.

People see the vic test as hard but it's only just a quick identity check. If you were closer I would of been interested for a rally car.

when I get rid all the good parts will be saved and the car scrapped. I think it will sell and I can't see the engine going for 350. See how it goes with paperwork

"Car needs a VIC, MOT and V62 before it can be used on the road"
VIC is about £41
MOT £55
V62 - £25 - takes about 4-6 to then get the v5
£121 minimum needed to get it on the road.
Needs road tax soon so that's probably another £80+ for 6 months which takes it to £200.
Still a decent bargain but all that will put so many people off I think.
I might be totally wrong with them prices though

VIC and MOT are both £40.
£750 on the road is still cheap right?
Dealer wants £1600, in fact one of those £1600 cars has more miles.
Except for that guy on Ebay, no one has even turned up with £400 and twisted my arm. I think people just see it and run away, watched too many episodes of Watchdog or something.
Or its just winter. Could also be that.

On piston heads there is a few that sold for around the £700 mark.
Others on there for £900 with more tax, mot and no insurance write offs.
£1600 from deals for a 12 year old ford is a bit optimistic I think personally.

Dealers always have their prices double everyone elses. i was looking at golfs the other day, private sellers wanted between 1.5-4k. Whereas dealers wanted nearly 5k for one with 100k+ miles.
