So, I live by myself and don't have much time to do some chores. Main one being vacuuming. After mmm'ing and arr'ing, I took the plunge and bought myself the ultimate geek machine. http://www.irobot.com/uk/

It's great! Thoroughly recommended
Scheduled to vacuum every morning at 100am (acts as my 2nd alarm when it starts to reverse out of its docking bay).
You'd be surprised at how well it performs too. Much better than my dyson.
It's really fascinating to watch. It charges itself when it's "tired", is clever at identifying objects, and it makes funky noises.

I've called mine Wall-e

I have 2 cats so I bought the pet series. Stiffer brushes I think?
£480 including delivery from their site. You can get it slightly cheaper from other sites I believe. If you think about it, it's not thatttt much more expensive than a really good vacuum anyway.

My grandmother got one of these a few years ago, suits her perfect as she lives on her own in a bungalow, just sits down and it does it all for her, you can put a sensor in doorways to stop it leaving the room aswell.

How well would it cope with man size tissues? I have a tendency to leave happy tissues laying around.

Don't get me wrong I'd do the same if I was dealer. Wake up at 10 with my electronic hoover reversing out it's docking bay and then jump in my v10 4x4 or supercar Evo.

i saw one of those robot vacuum cleaners (think it was a samsung) on the argos tv channel.

it took about 2 hours to clean a living room (would've taken 5 minutes max with a normal vacuum).

it also has to 'learn' where it is all the time, so takes ages doing that.

not worth the effort.

getting it out and pissing about with it mostly.

unless you own a mansion i can't see it being any easier than a normal vacuum cleaner.

do they make a lot of noise? i'd be well pissed if i had that thing running around the house making the typical vacuum cleaner noise for hours.

Surely you'd set it to go when you were out. Come back and job done, clean floors.

Put the cats in a black bag and sling them in the nearest canal. Do everyone a favour.
