Seems the FBI have taken Megaupload down, which I guess pretty much takes Icefilms down too.

Really? Did you know Swizz Beatz is the CEO of it?

Must only have happened in the last few hours, I got some stuff off it earlier but it when I tried to get the latest Modern Family all the Megaupload links were dead. I was going to get an Apple TV tomorrow too, think I'll put that on hold for now.
Link here says Swizz Beatz isn't named in the indictment.

SSL newsgroups, sabnzbd and sickbeard.
All HD, all automatic, SSL so noone can see what you are downloading + it maxes out your connection.

Yeah, obviously there are other options out there, I got what I was looking for easily enough, it's just Icefilms/XMBC seems to work well with Apple TV. I've got rid of my Sky multiroom sub and was planning on putting the Apple TV in instead. It's not really practical for me to watch stuff on the PC.

Get apple tv (or a better media player) and use newsgroups or something anyway.

I'll be honest John all this is pretty new to me. Only really started downloading stuff a few weeks ago. I've seen the guides using XBMC on Apple TV and it seemed simple enough. Plus I can use Sky Go via my iPhone/Apple TV to watch Sky Sports etc, that's why I was going down that road.
Up until now I've just been downloading onto a usb stick and watching that through blu-ray player or Xbox depending on what room I'm in.

Isn't their a Usenet client for ATV?
Edit; sure is http://www.evilsoapbox.com/?p=497
Use Astraweb at $11/month (~£7) or you can buy a year for $96 I think.

Rapidshare (free version) is another that'll max out your connection. I use it with JDownloader and queue files to download.

No one uses RS to host games on the site I use.
Most were using MU to host.

Quite a few popular website have also stopped allowing links to be shared, e.g. filesonic, fileserve, etc
