Fed up of my old £18 uncomfy bovver boots that I got issued from Tesco years ago (still got about 8 unworn pairs ha) starting a new contract in Feb so looking for some new ones? What are the best ones from experience? Seen Dewalt on eBay for £45 but are you just paying for a name? Have had Dewalt riggers in the past, proper comfy and lasted well but cant stand riggers, prefer ankle lace up ones, preferably black as I've got a messy job and pointless getting them blonde ones!

Any other suggestions? Want them to be as light as possible!

Dr Marten do steel top capped boots.
They are really comfortable and have a good sole.

Are they the police/army ones? That go quite high up the leg?

My dewalts are awesome. They are really comfy and very lightweight without compromising strength. They look a bit fucked now as I've had them a year but they aren't falling apart or anything. They are different to the ones above though - http://www.arco.co.uk/products/6L4900/290993/DeWALT%26reg%3B+Apprentice+Black+Hiker+Safety+Boot

Seconded for DeWalt being great, I've had a pair the last year and the only sign of real wear is on the laces. Dead comfy and support your ankles well.

I had those, they were a bit of a narrow fit for me but lasted years and that's with daily site use. Fairly comfy and very light, if they were a slightly wider fit I'd have bought another pair.

Like the look of the Magnums and can get them in ankle boots rather than high leg, the leather looks soft though, Im on my knees alot so need the toe to be tough enough not to tear easily, anyone shed any light on this? Its a toss up between Dewalt and them Magnums!

I had some karrimor ones last year, got them for £20 and they did me for a year as a brickwork labourer. Pretty good considering the price

I have a pair of Dr Martens for when I'm in the wharehousefor anything, they are quite comfy but the quality of them these days is.horrific but that is reflected in the price, they were only about 30 quid through a supplirr. One lad at work does have a pair of catapillar boots and swears by them. I have heard good things about magnums and dewalt though

That's your opinion and that's fine, but you're wrong. I don't know the model of mine but unless you had leprosy you'd be hard pushed to find better. Their riggers are brilliant too, I had a set that lasted me 2 years and were still useable - only got rid because the padding was getting a bit thin.
