Was thinking just a minute ago, that this would be a good idea for a thread.
Cars that are worth more now than their new price, like the Mclaren F1 for example. Not got the figures, but am sure its worth more now.
Also worth taking into consideration the value of money at the time. Eg: some cars were a few grand new in the old days and probably worth loads now.
Am thinking maybe 80s onwards

Its all big money stuff isn't it? Can't think of anything sensible that has done that. I know there are a few £20k+ Escort Cossies but they're normally well spec'd for that.

Without hunting for the original price, I dare say a Capri Brooklands 280 is worth more now than when it was new?

Probably will be an old Ford, yes
My neighbour in the 90s had one and so did the sister of the one the other side who lived in St Ives.
Bit young to appreciate it at the time.

When the BMW Mini came out, they were selling privately for above list price for the first 12months because of the waiting list. Obviously not the case now but worth keeping an eye out for cars like that in the future

On the subject of Ford Capri's, what were the 1s that had the Aston Martin badge's on them??
I remember when i used to do my paper round about 13 years ago, there used to be a British Racing Green Capri with Aston Martin badges sat in 1 of the streets. Was stunning with cream leather interior etc. I always thought it was maybe just an ordinary Capri and the owner had put Aston Martin badges on it.

With the money spent on my Ford Cougar (note for Ben G - I didn't say "cat" this time!) it will probably be worth more than the original sale price in terms of replacement parts!
