I'm selling my engine and performance parts and am going to fit a 2.0 16v.
The engine is going to be brand new though and mods are going to be limited to exhaust and manifold, filter, cylinder head work and hi-torque cams. I want a fast car but I also want a smooth and reliable ride too. I am going to be getting rid of my springs too as they are far too hard and I'm getting fed up with passengers saying "why is your car so bumpy?"
I'm gonna do it. Fuck the Astra in September I'm gonna be loyal to my Corsa.

No... But I'm gonna do it anyway.
I've decided. I've already started. Cams and cylinder have been sold, so I've already lost around 30bhp! Thats reason enough!

Sounds good then.
As 3CM's just said though, what about the suspension? Not a return to std surely!

I am getting some clear mk4 Astra side repeaters for my mk3 Astra. They too will be brand new.

Suspension wise I was thinking about Courtenay's 2.0 16v Corsa suspension kit. Thats meant to give give handling and a good smooth'ish ride!

To be honest, I don't know!
I only asked how much they would cost! Thought it would just be a case of ordering it?

Yes, I fucking hate that bumper! My clutch went the other day and the ammount of trouble I had getting my car towed was stupid! It is way too low and I hate the look of it too, plus its about as strong as a piece of wet paper!
Thinking of getting the Reiger RS kit.

I remember once when I went to my local vauxhall garage asking about a new F13 gearbox for my corsa, they quoted me over £2500 for one, and it was on an exchange basis - i dare not think how much they will over-charge me if I ask them about the price of a new C20XE

Things that will be changed...
Full bodykit added (probably Reiger RS)
New Alloys (probably Speedline rally wheels in 16")
New suspension
New brakes
New engine
New gearbox
New clutch
New exhaust
New interior
Pratically whole new car!

Patrick - the price they quoted you for the engine, was it retail or trade/trade club price?

Nice and subtle, but personally I'd just get the Dietrich RS front and rear

I just phoned Burnham Garage Vauxhall parts dept. (Slough), they said a brand new C20XE would cost £2,357, and that it's an exchange unit? Is this right?

You're doing this all wrong mate, why not just get a recon c20xe for starters .... you must have lost sooo much money on that corsa already
