Been lurking here for a few weeks and decided to start a log. Its a 1995 'n' reg 1.2 8v corsa. I got it for £190 with 6 months mot and tax. When i first got it the bodykit was all cracked all the way round, i started fixing it, joined here and realised it had to come off. Passed my driving test yesterday so want it done asap. Heres the pics,
Pics i got sent when it was advertised:
Before i started today:
5 mins later:
I still have the other side and back bumper to take off tommorow. Next up was start of inside, first out comes head unit that came with car:
Just realised no pics of new headunit lol, will upload tommorow. Next was standard front speakers out, read a few pages on here where people have but adapter rings but i wanted it done today so just modified the standard rings. Then put the new component set in.
Standard speakers:

In the modified speaker rings:
And in:
Next i started on the tweeters, decided to just fit in standard place:
I wired up the crossovers but didnt take any pics and they are still to be fitted on doorcard so will upload tommorow, comments welcome

well done on passing your test, good progress so far! only downside is its most likely gonna need a full respray once the kits off. what are your plans for it?

Thanks bud, respray is inevitable lol
Plans are
Sort outside and get a respray in either Sparkly Black, Arden Blue Or Kawasaki Green
Fit my new alloys ( got for £21 with spigot rings and locking wheel nuts )
Decide whether to paint my wheels white or black
Take middle box out and get a back box on as there isnt one just now
Change the interior as the interior isnt complete its missing bottom half of back bench
Uprate both front speakers and install rear speakers, cant do much more as got a pram and two car seats to fit in lol
Loads more but cant think ....

Definitely the right choice to ditch the kit!
Arden Blue for me, or why not look at using a colour from another manufacturer?
If you want a green for example, I really like the green found on the Mazda 2

Just started doing my big brake conversion, brakes were pathetic on it to start with. It may seem a bit overkill but its now done for if i do an engine conversion. Brakes are 288mm discs with v6 calipers. Heres pics so far,

@ nathy_87 brakes are quite simple, its just a unbolt, bolt on kind of thing, hardest part with that discs are getting the wheel on as you have to hold the disc and the wheel.

Update, got the new wheel on with spigot ring, took a while to line everything up but done now
Next i wanted to try my new bumper on, took a while to get it all lined up as i wanted it perfect. Still got the fogs to put in but will do that later once its painted.
Old wheel and brakes:
New wheel and brakes:
Arch Gap lol
New bumper:
I know the wheels arent Vauxhall wheels and wont be to everyones taste but i like them and for £21 you cant complain
