Just a little test really, does anyone on here care about it? I seem to be the only person among my mates who is looking forward to it.
I'm even considering going to see the Olympic flame when it passes through Derby, i mean it'll never happen again in our lifetime.
Even watching the cycling now on bbc2 as that our best chance of medals in the actual games.
Surely I can't be the only person looking forward to the games?

I'll be checking a few results etc but won't be making an effort to catch many events.

why would you go out of your way to see a flame going past your door?
live quite near the ''olympic village'' and i've been past it once in all the time they've been building it.
i'll watch some events on tv, but not going to masturbate over it or collect ingots/teddys.

You put "why would you go out of your way to see a flame going past your door?"
If its going past your front door, you don't need to go out of your way?

I'm excited for it but only because I've got really interested in cycling in the last year or so, watching the track cycling now shows theres a lot of potential in the GB team which is nice considering its in the UK this year

I'm going to watch the beach volleyball
TBH I'm not that fussed about it, the Olympics has never really interested me. I'm more interested in how badly it's going to fuck up my commute

I've always watched them since I was a young whippersnapper and these will be no different.
There's a fair amount of shite but things like the cycling, 100m, 200m, relay's, football etc... should all be brilliant.

people moaning about the traffic and trains being busy lol its a couple of weeks for fucks sake....you get to work late, who cars - stop for a coffee, get there even later and blame it on the olympics
Think it will be brilliant personally ...whats not to like about the Olympics? Its good sporting tv for a couple of weeks.
Im mainly looking forward to Bolt, all the cycling especially Cav, Boxing, Footy, Table tennis(going to watch it) Ennis, and Long distance track stuff which is always quality viewing

It's not just a case of trains being a bit busy, London underground is already running almost to its max capacity.
I think that certain areas of London will literally grind to a halt. I'm not talking about journeys taking an extra 10 - 20 minutes. I'm talking about a journey that would normally take 30 minutes taking 3 hours.
I might be wrong though, perhaps I need a bit more faith in the transport network. But given that it struggles to stand up to the normal demand, I think it will end in disaster. So far, the only advice that's been given is don't use the transport network, that's hardly a solution.
