I know people say go for the vectra engine, but what exactly is the difference between the astra and vectra x18xe1's?

Thermostat housing and if i recall they run a different cam belt setup

Does that affect the actual conversion at all?

Thermostat housing will just cause the needle to read backwards i.e starts in the red.

Cam belt has to be changed to the vectra type, if i recall its a different engine mount that interferes with the cam belt or something.

im sure the x18 and the z18 have a different material head gasket if that any help
