Set for an announcement tomorrow at 6am, the census seems to be that they will go on sale then. I remember people were interested in a previous thread so thought i'd give everyone a heads up. XBMC is running good on it too

How long will it take for the site to crumble under load.
I'll be in work around 7:15 so will be checking it out then and ordering one if they are not all gone.

And I cant imagine they'd have produced enough for the demand.

Yeah I read 10,000 too will be a lottery to get one, they will be producing shit loads more anyway. I'm planning to use it as a cheap media centre. I saw its been posted on hotukdeals and most of them have no idea and seem to want to buy one because it's cheap, thinking its a pc and having no clue Linux even exists.

I think i'll order 4 or 5.
Ebay might be a good shout to sell a couple once they're out of stock.

How to Buy
The Raspberry Pi is available at either Premier Farnell or RS Components. Search for Raspberry Pi, and then follow the normal shopping and checkout process.

A load of betty in how they're handling this, especially as Farnell/RS aren't and were never capable of dealing with this amount of traffic.
Edit - Farnell 'sold out' apparently. Not sure how that happen when their site has been dead for the last 20 mins

Its really amazing that so many large sites are so poor at load management.

There's going to be some angry geeks on their forums when the site comes back up.
Engadget also stated that they've a deal with the manufacture which means the batches aren't limited to 10,000 a time, instead it's a "constant stream".
If that's true it shouldn't be too long before there's more in stock

I don't need one immediately, think I'll wait for people to get it all sorted before I get one, would like something that would let me move the ps3 upstairs tho.
