when i lock/unlock my car with the key fob the lights flash so obviously activating/deactivating the alarm

would using the key in the door prevent the alarm from being set?

some models arm with the key, some dont, and some u have to turn the key one way, then the other. Most do notr arm with key tho

yes it is factory fitted....

forgive me if im wrong but how do i test the alarm has set if the car is locked

i know i can set the deadlocks by turning the key to lock then again for dead locks but never tried turning it other way. il try that now

if its ultrasonic, open window and lock car - wait a couiple of minutes then put arm into window and wave about - alarm sud go off

try thesetting the alarm with the bonnet open. it will go off then, or hold down a switch on the doors

i forgot to make it clear that i want to lock my car without setting the alarm. might sound daft but its for when i leave the dog in it

Read the manual it tell how to tell if the larm has set.

open your bonnet, get a friend to hold dound the button so your alarm thinks the bonnet is clossed. Then lock your car, leave it thirty seconds, then get your mate to release the button. Thats what i did when i tested mine.
