We are pleased to announce the new Astra VXR will be unveiled at the Geneva Motorshow on Tuesday 6th March 10.30am UK time. This communication details the Astra VXR specification, Price and Performance as well as provides you with all relevant ordering information.
The Astra VXR is based on the Astra GTC Paris concept which created a stir when it debuted at last year’s Paris Motor Show. Never simply a car designers dream, the concept then became reality with the Astra GTC which arrived in showrooms in November.
This new exciting addition to the VXR line up will be the most powerful in its class with a 280PS, 400Nm 2.0 Turbo engine and will accelerate quicker than any of its main rivals with an impressive 0-60mph time of 5.9 seconds.
The announcement will not only include performance figures but also the very competitive price of OTR Price of £26,995.
Astra VXR is priced over £3000 less that the VW Scirocco R and only £900 above the equivalent Renault Sport 265 Megane.
The VXR comes with 15PS more power than the its 2 main competitors and 40/50NM more torque. With 19 inch alloy wheels linked to VXR FlexRide chassis, HiPerStrut front suspension and Limited Slip Differential all fitted as standard, the car comes with a very high level of equipment.
Interior specification includes Morrocana VXR Sports Seats, VXR flat bottom steering wheel, VXR Leather gear knob DAB Radio, USB connectivity and Bluetooth Mobile Phone System.
The already bold Astra VXR Styling with front Airdam bumper, sports side skirts and Rear lower diffuser with twin exit exhausts can also be made even more extreme with the addition of the optional VXR Aero Pack.
The more aggressively styled VXR Aero Pack includes 20 inch forged bi-colour alloy wheels, Bi-Plane Rear Spoiler and Extended side skirts all for £995 inc VAT.

My god usual ignorant comments, the old bad handling VXR lapped the 'Ring in the damp in 8.35 only 15 seconds slower than the R26R running track tyres and stripped out, this one has a diff more power and fantastic chassis setup with Brembo 4 pots
