Not sure if it's possible, but we (work office) had a brand new pc arrive few weeks back and I was asked to downgrade it to XP due to complications with the server and not allowing it to 'talk' with Win.7 but it has come to light as of recent that we can keep Win.7 on any new machines that we have in. My question is now it's been down graded to XP is there any chance we can put it back to Win.7? No discs came with the comptuer. Computer in question is a HP jobby.
Cheers.

Only if it's the Professional or Ultimate version, Home Premium does not.

Why the sticker?
Edit: So if it is a restore on the partition how would I do that?

The COA (sticker) has the licence number on it so if you had the correct Windows 7 DVD you could reinstall it legitimately using that licence number.
Normally when you boot the computer where it says the HP logo or whatever it might say something like F10 Restore - if you do a Google on the model number you should be able to find a PDF manual which explains this procedure on your computer as it differs on each system.

That's because it will have a restore partition... Hardly any computers these days come with a restore disc(s).

do a fdisk on the drive and view the partition list; will tell you if there is a restore partition (usually hidden) or not.

no open up command prompt and use fdisk. Saying that, if you don't know what it is or what you're doing then i suggest leaving fdisk alone otherwise I can see a new post popping up - "Used fdisk, now have a corrupt MBR...help!".
