I've been scouring the net for a couple weeks now in search of an old Vauxhall. There's not an awful lot about but I really want a Viva, Chevette or maybe a Firenza.
I've just come across this and really really want it Only problem is I have so storage space/garage and there's none round here to rent.

I don't have the space, knowledge or tools to do a full restoration, that's why I want one that's either mostly done or fully done.
I haven't got the gear to be welding and doing bodywork.

Do love the Manta, never looked at them. The only thing that puts me off is it not running, they say it's just a fuel pump but knowing my luck it will be a whole engine.

Some advice from me:
Get something pre 1973 so its tax exempt
You don't need a garage.. Waters does his in his garden
Skills and knowledge aren't an issue. Get a Haynes and get stuck in, old cars are simple.
99% of old cars will need a bit welding
Keep your heart in it, its easy to want to chuck in the towel and spend the cash on something newer
This is what I've learned on the imp, I had little or no knowledge and have learned so so much... Its good fun when stuff goes well

How classic do you want to go mate? I would suggest something with a large following for your first classic. Beetles, MGs, mini etc. that way you will never be short of advice/help/parts when you need it. Classics are a lot more basic compared to modern cars and they are good to learn on IMO.
