I'm looking at getting a piece done on the top of my thigh, a quote reading 'Some people feel the rain, others simply get wet'. It'll measure about 4 or 5" by about 3" and be on the front of my left thigh reading vertically, in something similair to palace/ gangster script.

Went into a place I know is good this morning after work and was talking to a girl (don't know if she was an artitst or not) and she was showing me all the different fonts I could have it in and stuff. For roughly the size stated above the girl said it would cost £240. To be perfectly honest I don't know if that's a good price, not got a clue about how ot's worked out. I relise it might be quite a difficult thing to price but I just want to make sure I'm not being charged 3x what I should or something!

This sort of font with slight changes:

Most charge by the hour but that should take a half hour tops, I wouldn't pay more than £100
My lyrics on my side cost 150 for alot more than that.

This is why I'm asking, seems dead expensive. I'm going to try and see what their 'rate' is and talk to people who've been

Cheers Ben, it kind of put me off that she just printed it off the computer and when I asked 'oh, could I change this and that' she could only do what the computer could do

You need to look st the artist and if you're happy to pay for his work.
Guy I'm going to is charging quite a bit more than others locally, but he's awesome.
Don't just try and find the cheapest place, it's on you for life.

Aye don't get me wrong, I realise that I will pay over the odds for an above average place. Just wanted to know whether it's like paying £300 for a car wash!

Seriously, if they can't do anything they can't print and stencil on then don't even consider them.
When I've been looking for a new artist I've not even asked about prices, just looked through all of their work.

I suggest neither of you get the tattoo I'm thinking about then! I could tell you the meaning behind it but instead I'm just going to say I'm getting it because it looks good; in the hope to piss you off more

Quality has been reduced a lot when I've just uploaded it but I'm having this done in 2 weeks, on my tricep for £50 by a decent tattooist.

I'm definetely going to need to see about the quality of their work and if it's worth it. My sister's got a tattoo from there in similair font - I know it's a great tattoo, can't remember how much it cost her though

A few people may disagree with me but I personally wouldn't find the best and most expensive tattooist if it's just script you are wanting.

I personally think most, if not all tattooist will have a good ability of lyrics/words.

Some studios do it per letter some per hour.
I wouldnt want to go any more than £60per hour depending on the artist.

I like loads of sayings and lyrics, wouldn't get it put on me in permanent ink though, I'll always come across a better one.
