Hi need a new chain but not sure how u work out what chain size i need. Ive got the 3 cogs on the front and 8 on back i think. Its a standaed kona stinky 2008? Also which tyre would anyone recommand got a maxxis minion at the min but fancy something different.

The chain you've got on it at the moment should say what make it is if you look closely. You might need a new cassette as well, I would get a cassette just to make sure. All the chains I've bought come one length then you shorten them if needed. Count the number of links on your old chain then see how many links the new chain has and shorten it if you need to.

Any 8 speed chain will do.
As said, the chain wears at the same rate as the rear "cogs" (cassette) so that will 9 times out of 10 need need changing too.

Thanks. Counted have 9 speed so will count the links. I new about cassette just wasnt sure if had to get the correct left with having 3 cogs on front
