Just wondering if anybody has ever done this?

I have a fancy Pioneer headunit that has a handbrake wire that requires to be bypassed

I think I need this:-

12v Relay
(with crimp connectors)

And this guide- http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=fvwp&v=DSY61OwvTaw

My car is a Lexus IS300 and unit is similar to the one in the youtube video above, its a Pioneer 2400BT

Any help or advice would be cool!

Just read this

"This will suit pretty much all the new type of DVD units that you cant bypass by simply grounding the handbrake wire...

What this does is exactly the same as an amp or power antenna remote wire. It sends power to the relay slightly after the unit powers up. There for letting you still watch dvds when the handbrake is not engaged."

Yup, a lot of new headunits require a 'delayed' ground so use a relay and the remote.

Oh and Help Zone!
