basically, my current cars policy ends on the 14th of april, but interested in purchasing a new car, but will be insuring with a different insurance company.
Would be technically insured on both cars then, as with current policy doesnt end until the 14th.

Other problem is my ncb, some people say you can just send new company my renewal notice and thats usually acceptable, but if not then id be abit stuck as i doubt my current insurers would be will to send official proof of ncb untill policy ended, and obviously with new insurers you usually have something like 7-14days to send proof.

Anyone got any idea at all?

Thanks

you can request the proof of ncb at any time, could request it mid way through the year.

they would have to be really picky if they didnt send it you when it runs out in 2 weeks time.

when i did my insurance for my old car they let me use 5 years ncb despite only having 4 at the time as i was still half way through a policy on another car with a different company (was 5 once that policy ended).

in my 8 years of driving i have always received a reminder/re-newal letter at least two weeks (typcailly 4 weeks) before the end of the policy which shows my NCB so i would firtly be surprised if it doesnt appeared soon

secondly as Matt said, you can request NCB at any time

yes have my renewal, but heard some insurers are abit fussy and sometimes prefer a certificate of proof of ncb, also would i technically be insured on both cars still until policy ends on current car?

i have never had a "certificate" the most i have ever recieved from any inusrer is my renewal notice which i have photocopied for my reference sending off the original

yes - if both policies are live, then you would be insured on both up to April 14th when your current runs out
