quote:
Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude has been urged to withdraw comments that people should fill up jerry cans with petrol in case of a strike by fuel tanker drivers over Easter.
Despite insisting there was no need to panic, Mr Maude advised people to stock up on fuel in case of a walkout at what is one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
"When it makes sense, a bit of extra fuel in a jerry can in the garage is a sensible precaution to take," Mr Maude said.

I got to the local Tesco pumps at the right time today. I had a few cars in front of me but about a few mins later, must've had about 10 cars behind me.

I have zero petrol and I refused to queue up like a dick whilst wankers fill cans in front of me.
I'll get a lift to work if I have to.

Seems I live in the only part of the country that hasn't gone mental, got some diesel today, one other person in. Haven't noticed any queues anywhere either. Media could help by not hyping it up and getting morons into a panic though.

Filled up yesterday and it was hammered then. Luckily I get about 6 weeks to a tank so it'll be sorted by then.
