Won't matter too much if the DNS caches don't update. Would need to stay down for days to kill it properly.

The 13 root servers aren't just 13 servers either, doubt it'll come to much.

I'd laugh off such a claim if it wasn't for their previous claims which they managed to follow through. I just question the legitimacy of random pastbin shite, however it was on YC so assume it's legit.

I dont think it would matter a huge amount, they're not going to target that many DNS servers and ISPs will simply still cache it for sometime.

I bet we dont even notice it happen.

They'd have to target both root, of which there are 300 odd servers iirc, and cache (thousands) DNS servers to get any form of 'blackout'. And even then the 'master' DNS servers, which iirc aren't public facing, would still be running.

It'd only work if the cached DNS's flush all of there entries prior to updating from the root servers but to my knowledge this isn't the case, they simply update the 'changes'. Could be wrong but that'd be one serious flaw in the design of the network

I've got enough switches and desks to house about 40 of you, bring your PCs and a collection of your favourite HTML pages to mine house if you want to live.
