Think you will be better off buying from part suppliers over here tbh bud.. Rather spend the extra and know they are going to fit and be right.. Give me a text tomorrow with what ya need and I'll see if I can get hold of any of them cheapish

get down to your local engine building place mate or drop Steveboyslim a u2u.
They will provide you with everything you need. also tell you exactly what gaskets etc you need. Most come in a top and bottom gasket set, buy headbolts seperate, mains and end bearings plus anything else you plan to refresh

u2u'd him
im just unsure if its really necessary to change the main bearing, cranck shaft oil seals and oil pump as they haven't yet been removed and have been left soaked in oil for god know how long, genuinely seem fine...
as said in my thread im not aiming for big bhp or anything super impressive, its more so a learning curve and a decent 20xe im after (so many seem to be described as mint when buying complete, but they all cant be)

is it worth the hassle of not doing them? they cost fuck all really and for peace of mind whilst changing everything else.
If the main bearings go after 2k miles of driving with it being rebuilt it will all have to come out and you will have to buy a whole new rebuilt kit from scratch. Cant use same gaskets, bearings or headbolts again mate(well its not advised to)

good call, i never gave them a thought
just got off the phone and im quite pleased with what prices they have...
only issue is they said the genuine standard 20XE oil pump is a very hard item to come by these days, they can however supply a 2.0l 8v wich 'he thinks' fits and should be upto scratch depending on the engine spec... not too sure myself but the price for the oversized pistons was alrite, roughly £250 including vat and thats for the ones with the valve recess in the top. main bearings and big ends were fairly cheap too, as were the standard bolts
cheers lads

I've got a spare pick up pipe to use a z20let pump in the xe, one of steveboyslims,
Much more reliable setup than the c20xe pump which are getting fairly old now and more and more seem to be failing.
