Well my car needs taxing at the end of the month and it needs a fresh MOT in June but it will have the XE in it so the emissions arnt going to be the same as the 1 litre so it will fail So will I have to register my car to the DVLA ? To tell them before MOT so it can pass ??

What have everOne else had to do ?

If you're declaring it you need to fill out your V5 with the new cc and engine number and recently most people are getting asked for letters confirming the engine number and cc from a garage on headed paper

Some MOT testers test the car by what is given to them

Well it's just with my mate telling me it might not pass emissions because they will pop my reg in and it would come up a 1litre plus I wouldn't have a cat on cause the XE is higher on emissions

Also I was told if get banned and anyone in the car will get 3 points just because I havnt told the insurance ? So I need that V5 form just to declare it ? Was the tax more ?

Yeah you need the V5 form to do it and tax was almost double

I'm not sure about the being pulled thing.

Stick a cat on it for the mot and pray it passes The MOT garage wont be worried about what its registered as kyle, you'll just need to get it to pass the normal emissions level

Emissions tests are done by the age of the block, not the car so if it's a pre cat engine you don't need a cat. There's a date stamp on the block if they want proof. If its a post cat age get a cat. I sent my v5 off ages ago and still haven't had it back.

Take of the oil cap and look straight down, it will tell the year of the head stamped in. Which will most likely be the same year as the engine providing the head hasn't been changed.

Mine is a dizzy and it says 97, so dizzy doesn't mean no Cat, pre cats are 1993 iirc.

John - I'm just going off what a friend said if I dont tell my insurance it's 2 litre and the police pull me and tell my insurance apparently I can get banned and people in the vehicle can get fined or 3 points because they know the vehicles a 2litre that's what I've been told don't know if it's true like

Jed - yeah It does on the front of the block on the right

Jamie, Edge - ill look out for what you two have said just as long as I can give them a year of the block or head that's what emission test will go off is that right then ?
