In America, people over there are always plastering their nation's flag everywhere - on trains and other public transport, flags outside their homes and business, and what have you.
This doesn't really happen over here. Why is that? Apart from the British flag being flown outside official buildings etc. I only ever see the occasional St George's Cross flag as a sticker in someone's car window or one from JJB Sports being held outside the bedroom window of someone's council house

Mainly due to the fact most people are ashamed to be British.

The real reason is Americans are fucking lunatics that can't see past the end of their own nose.
George Bush had left the confines of America either once or twice when he became President. They are that short-sighted the world is America first and everyone and everything else second.

This is the village where i used to live:

They love their flags and will definitely have St. Georges crosses on all the shops today.

Chalfont St. Peter Normally have the village coat of arms/crest up or the Union Flag up if there's something else on. Looked rather smart at the royal wedding. They also had Olympic flags up a while ago too

as said, it's seen as chavvy and normally seen on houses around council estates as it covers up the shit paint or dirty windows on the outside.
had one up on my house for the world cup and i found it embarrassing.

That and national pride seems to have a distinct link with racism in this country.
