My girlfriend was her friend. She was one of the fittest people she knew!

Quite harrowing looking back to page 91 and seeing the last comment saying something along the lines of "see you at the finish line" then the next one is an RIP comment. Crazy how life can change just like that!

Such a sad story.
But the donations are literally going up by hundreds of pounds a minute

Because you can't put a value on someones life?
She died trying to raise money for a charity she believed in

did her belief or cause not matter so much when she was alive?
dont get me wrong its fantastic that its raised such an amount and a tragic death, i just dont understand why it took that to happen to gain that amount interest in her cause.

Surely its simple - her name has appeared in the papers.
Or are you saying you know over 3000 people who would donate if you wanted to run?

Ok so the exposure is greater, so are people donating for the charity or for her death?
its either or the other and either can be done in different and better ways

Because it wasn't to the masses of people it is now. Just from it being on the news it has created awareness of it. Thought you were a clever person but i assume its just trolling

I can see what Steve is saying though, many people will be genuine but there will be some people on there who are donating because it looks good. Probably tell everyone they know that they have donated in the hope they get some pat on the back.

thanks mate. Nah, it definitely happens, whether its a bad thing or not is open to debate, end of the day, its money going towards a good cause, which is a good thing, the reasons for it are probably not though. "Look at me, i donated, i am a nice person, doesnt everyone agree?"
I have a lot more respect for anyone that donates a lot and remains anonymous to someone who donates £2 and spiels of a load of bile about how they were truly devastated to hear the news and cried all day, then put a link to thier own fb page or something.

I think the saying goes, if life gives you lemons make lemonade? The extra publicity and the sadness of the situation will have made people think they can spare a few quid for her cause.
