I'm going to Cuba for 2 weeks, in 2 weeks. I'm staying in Varadero.
I was just wandering what it's like? Is there much to do or am I gonna spend a lot of time lazing about the pool?

Shouldn't you ask these things before you book?
Same as above, never been myself but a couple of friends have and said the same thing.
However, for me lazing by the pool or on a beach isn't such a bad thing! Headphones + iPod + sun lounger and chill the fuck out!!

My parents just gone there second time round. They loved it. Plenty of cool pictures. They said it's like being back in USSR. Nothing has changed there!

I'm going over for my brothers wedding, so I didn't really have a choice.

I'm told that something like an England football shirt is like a gold bar to the locals. My sister went some years ago, and they took a load of shirts which they'd bought from Sports Soccer on the cheap. They were to tip the people who carry your luggage through the hotel etc, or the people who work behind the bar.
She said that cash tips weren't allowed in their hotel, but when she gave this guy the England shirt, he started crying with joy.
It's something to do with cargo ships from big countries not being able to enter their waters/ports or something. Mind you, this was a good 7 years ago, so it might have changed

Thats cool tbh. I'd rather tip with something like that than cash.

I was meant to go for the girlfriends brothers wedding. But the Volcano ruined it They seemed to enjoy it though.
Rent a 70s car and drive to the capital for the day, was what we were planning on doing.
