also it's fairly straightforward to change the V5c in most cases, don't run the risk mate it's not worth it

It's the chance you take running it logged as a 1.2, I ran mine as a standard 1.6 Gsi and even got pulled by the cops for a spot check and they couldn't tell the difference lol. I was just lucky.

And as the plug cover read dohc 16v and the car the Gsi model he must have just thought it was the standard engine

I bet 90% of traffic cops could tell a redtop from a 12v

read what I wrote mate I said " it's fairly straightforward to change the V5c in most cases" I've heard of a few stubling blocks with some peoples engine swaps but the ones I've had to change went fine

Seems to be hit or miss with that. I was never asked for one. It prob depends on whether or not Someone registered on BarryBoys is processing it or not.

I asked about changing the details on mine and was told about an engineers report and a load of other shit to go with it. Was costing a fortune as well so ended up not bothering. This was years ago mind you.

The engineers report is really just a letter on headed paper saying its the correct CC as stated and also the correct engine number. Aslong as they recieve that then it's fine
