I like them in Grey with a decent engine, otherwise its just an old slow average looking car.

My Granny has an '06 one now for about a month & I absolutely love it! Quite nippy, brakes are great (not as good as my corsa's tho!), comfy as fuck and a boot that not even a mafia boss could fill! Does about 60mpg, 50 if it's getting dogged. Car has just (yesterday) done 68k miles and is still going like a new car.
Mind you, the traction control can't be turned off, and the handbrake is shite for getting you out of those awkward situations. Other than that, great car!

My Dad had the very first S40 in the country, N84 JRE about 3 moths before they went on general sale in the UK back when Volvo were selling boxy cars like the 940 and 440. Remember there being a crowd round it when we first went to the local town as it was so different to what had gone before. Dad developed the exhaust system and heat shielding for it hence getting one early Nd he still reckons its the best car he's ever owned-helped that it was factory tuned, lowered and upgraded. Was a smart piece of kit for the mid 90s

was a t4 when they used the 4 cylinder engine rather then the 5 cylinder in the bigger volvos, i had a 1.8 s40 for a while and hated it was a horrid car to drive, recently had a shot of a diesel one which is the same engine thats in the renaults and was pretty good, night and day compared to the 1.8

I've got myself an s60 01 plate, its only a 2.0t but still is180bhp as standard.
Had it since january, its very very comfy, the car you are looking at can be picked up for dirt cheap with all extras like mine, heated leather seats, cruise control, climate control, trip computer etc..
Very good cars!
