Yo, basically i bought insurance through a broker and the insurance cpmpny has sent me a letter to say they do not use brokers therefore my insurance is getting cancelled next week due to false information that could of been supplied by my broker....!

It cost £700 to insurance company and £150 to the broker.
This is substanially cheaper than the £1.2k through money supermarket...
Now.... As this car was a gap fill, do i sell it or pay through the nose for insurance? Car is worth 2k and insurance is 1.2k!

I wouldn't personally pay £1200 insurance on a £2000 car so I would sell it.

You can get something nice for £2000 that will be less to insure as well.

Can you not check the information is correct? Surely if it is there's no reason to cancel, if the brokers lied it be back to them for a full refund

Ive read this a few times now and non of it makes sense.

How can an insurance company sell you insurance, then say they don't use the broker they have assigned you with??

He's bought from a broker who have in turn used an underwriter who don't authorise brokers so the broker have lied to the underwriter to get the policy as a private individual. Once the underwriter have discovered it was a broker and not private they've cancelled.
I assume to get it so cheap the brokers have lied about personal details

well the saga continues

Admiral cancelled insurance
Rang them to reinstate with sister company "Bell"
They have blacklisted me from insuring with Admiral, Bell and Elephant.co.uk

I had a good quote with all details correct from Bell.co.uk that they supplied me with a quote......but now will not insure me.

I have the brokers calling them tomorrow to try sort this mess out.

Car is in garage and should be repaired by the weekend.....Looking like I wont be able to drive it over weekend although this is not a real big problem as I am away on business next week anyway.....
