Was there on the day and it took a while to figure out what had happened as everything just stopped.

Hope he makes a full recovery, so unlucky.

Very sad, but at least he's survived.
Can't really blame the event though.. kids have been known to throw stones in the playground. There's always signs up at these sort of events to warn that motorsport is dangerous etc... although I've never really considered this aspect of danger.

Amazing how such a freak accident could cause such a horrific injury. I've been hit in the head with stones, rocks etc. before whilst out at rallies and I've never had anything happen, aside from a few cuts, gashes & broken glasses. Nearly been hit with rally cars too, took a wing mirror off with my arm.
