Just got a nice new laptop from ebuyer, Asus X53S, i7, 8gm ram etc etc. All going well until I plugged my speakers in, seemed to have static. Tried three different sets of headphones, all the same.
Anything worth trying before returning it? Already put most my personal files on it, be a bastard having to do it all again!

Is this with the charger plugged in? Have you tried it without?

Tried it with the charger and without, wifi turned off and all USB devices unplugged, still the same.
Edit, should note that even if I mute the sound on the laptop the static is still there - Once I turn down the volume on the speakers themselves then it stops.

Take your laptop out in to your garden (running off the battery), do you still have the same problem?
I have this on my old HP laptop to be honest, you get used to it after a while. I don't get this problem on my 7 month old MacBook Pro though...
