Picked up the new car yesterday. Fitted with a c20xe. Only problem is, when you start the car, it struggles to idle, have to keep foot on the accelerator a little for a few mins till it warms up. Then when it warms up after about 5-10 mins, it will idle anywhere between 1200rpm and 2000rpm!
What would cause this? ICV? TPS?
Currently has no lambda sensor, so engine management light is on. Am i right in saying that that is for emmisions, and will cause the engine management light to come on, but not cause the idling problem?
Any help much appreciated!

Hmmm... Mine's kind of similar. Wont hold revs at all when first started, then when warm idles anywhere between 1200-2000. Wonder would afm cause that?

if your engine is supposed to run with a lambda it should have one, it adjusts how rich/lean the engine runs so will have an affect on idle and revs

yeah, well it was unplugged when i got it and was reving high. just plugged it in and it idled fine, but kind of misfired.
Lambda should be plugged in by the sounds of it, and the problem is something else. ICV or TPS maybe

icv is underneath the inlet so bit difficult
tps, if you disconnect the pipe from the inlet point it facing out across the rocker cover with the afm and filter all connected.its the small black sensor on the side of the throttle body, undo the screws and move it about on the shaft and listen for a change in idle, if it increses/decreases switch it off or a few seconds and switch it back on again and readjust if neccessary.
