Sepp Blatter has been on smack again.

What could he possibly want to replace a shoot-out. The golden goal rule was good, but I think some do-gooder whipped that out of football a while ago.

Hes got the right idea tbf, penalties are a joke and a ridiculous way to decide a match BUT, has anyone ever come up with a better idea? Good luck to Der Kaiser I say!
Onyl thing I could ever think of is a penalty shot, like in ice hockey... but not sure whether that would really work in football

makes sense in theory but watch a video of it in action in ice hockey and it looks less effective in football

Didnt like golden goal at all because all it meant was teams sat back and defended, scared to concede.
No better alternative to pens, its the ultimate test of nerve for footballers. So what if its cruel, its still a test of skill.
